A team-based, community-supported green stormwater infrastructure project for the Gardens Super Neighborhoods. Rainscapes develops a visual identity, workshop event, community and city-wide application of their campaigns, with the overarching mission of improving the equity of infrastructure. The campaign makes the people-forward appeal to those who need it the most, bringing greener practices to under-served communities in a handmade, authentic and accessible manner.

A holistic walkthrough not only Rainscapes’ brand guidelines, but the initative behind the logo. This webscroll explores the various ways Rainscapes is promoted to have both a digital and in-person presence, from websites and social media to the community workshops bringing residents to a fuller understanding and participation of incorporating rain gardens into their own neighborhoods.

Rainscapes’ primary call to action is to educate the greater Houston community on the benefit of slowing stormwater runoff via Rain Gardens. This poster uses a clear, understandable layer structure with image as texture to showcase the formation and contents of a simple Rain Garden. Detailed instructions and examples of native plants are listed an the bottom for added guidance.

This personal flood control guide serves to deliver Rainscapes’ Mission Statement: Improving the equity of infrastructure. A ring of droplet-shaped flashcards detail the various learning points surrounding GSI, Green Stormwater Initiative. As an interactive reference guide, these flashcards aid stormwater literacy and show Houstonians how even small actions and practices at the community level can start a ripple effect of healthier watersheds and more protection from the dangers floodwaters pose.
