“Where the Spaces Echo” is an anthology book created by the University of Houston’s Graphic Design Class of 2023. Twenty-four individuals collectively designed and wrote narratives based upon real or fictional museum spaces to show the many faces of what a museum means to us. The book serves as a new home for these memories and recollections, just as a museum would. The authors have curated, selected, arranged, and given meaning to these spaces within the book, hoping to reveal the infinite ways in which they echo and connect with each other.

Execution

40 copies of the book were completed by te senior class, folded, sewn, trimmed and finished each copy by hand.

Installation

A framed structure held panels printed on silk with an introduction to the anthology and the story titles. Hanging from the structure in acrylic saddles were various copies of the book. Mounted panels in the back added another instance of layering and echo.
